Peyton Pallette earned the win with a clean 1.0 inning of relief, though it should be noted that Cleveland’s pitching staff did enough damage control after the Astros made their run.

Yordan Alvarez did everything possible to keep Houston in this game, finishing with three RBIs and two hits. But individual brilliance can only go so far when the rest of your roster fails to convert opportunities. The Astros left runners in scoring position multiple times and couldn’t capitalize when it mattered.

Guardians Refuse to Quit

This victory proves the Guardians have the mettle to compete in a tough AL Central. One month into the season, Cleveland demonstrated they won’t fold when facing a team of Houston’s caliber. That eighth-inning explosion will echo through the clubhouse as evidence that no lead is safe.
