Let’s be clear about what happened here. Alcantara didn’t just win a ballgame. He obliterated the Marlins’ franchise strikeout record, a monumental achievement that speaks to both his sustained excellence and his competitive fire. The man was simply untouchable over 6.2 innings of work, scattering just five hits while issuing three walks and striking out four. Every pitch seemed to have a purpose.
